Kelly Kroener grew up in rural SW Ohio. She completed a BFA in fashion at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2010. After which she began living and working in Baltimore, Cincinnati and Dallas establishing a studio practice as well as a socially oriented practice with her partner Eli Walker and an artists collective known as SCAB.
Her work has been noted in regional, national and international art and cultural periodicals, such as Art in America and has shown across the United States. In 2015 she was awarded the Kimburough Award from the Dallas Museum of Art. In 2016, she attended the Horse and Art residency in Hungary. In 2020, she received a grant from the Ohio Arts Council and is currently pursuing her MFA in sculpture at Cranbrook Art Academy in Michigan.
